The first Thor 2 trailer has been released and it looks like The Dark World will see the return of a certain villain from The Avengers. Minor Thor 2 plot spoilers follow, so stop reading if you don't want them; however it's nothing you won't see in the trailer itself.

Thor 2: The Dark World - Minor Spoilers Ahead!! 

Perhaps the most significant plot point revealed in the Thor 2: The Dark World trailer is that Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, will be returning to Thor's side to help him defend against the film's villain, Malekith and his army of dark elves. In the last scene of the trailer, we see Thor visiting Loki in a jail cell. He asks Loki for his help, but warns that he'll kill him should he betray him.

Judging from the Thor 2 trailer, Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, will also have a pivotal role in The Dark World. In the trailer, we see Thor return to Earth and take her with him back to Asgard. Later on, Jane appears to be in some kind of trouble at the hands of a pretty despicable looking dark elf. Though we don't see what happens to her, Thor drops down to his knees and screams "No!"

Thor 2 definitely looks a bit more cheesy than Marvel's Iron Man films, but when you substitute magic for technology, some degree of cheesiness should be expected. Suffice it to say, if you enjoyed Thor, you'll probably enjoy The Dark World.
