‘Yu-Gi-Oh!' Anime Goes Digital In New Season; More Details Announced

Popular gaming manga and anime, “Yu-Gi-Oh!” has just been announced for a new season of its anime television series. The announcement was given just recently and it has already revealed lots of details on the new season. The said anime will have a new title and new story.

The details on the new anime series for “Yu-Gi-Oh!” has been reported in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, a local Japanese anime and manga magazine. It has revealed that the new season will be titled “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS” and it will be coupled with an upgrade in the anime’s story. A promotional poster was revealed, stating that the new anime will delve on to a digital plot wherein the characters will be using virtual reality, hoverboards, and duel discs.

Apparently, the hardcore card games will now be taking place in an arena created by virtual reality. With cyberspace making it into the picture, duelists will be able to bring in monsters to the play through link summoning. The monsters, which has been called Decode Talker, is featured in the said promotional poster and it looks like a huge digital knight wielding a sword.

This is clearly a huge plot twist since this isn’t how the story progress in the manga. Even the first anime adaptation for “Yu-Gi-Oh!” deviated and did not follow the main story as depicted in the manga series. But at least the characters will still be the same so fans will still see Yusaku Fujiki as the hero along with other familiar faces.

The new “Yu-Gi-Oh!” anime series is said to focus on the modern generation, hence aiming for young viewers. Though the new anime will have a digital plot, it will still showcase a realistic story wherein the characters go through hardships to achieve goals so the young viewers can learn and relate. The new anime series, “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS” has been slated to premiere this April after the “Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V” has ended.
