Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Will Be a Standalone Game From the Films

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (MvCI) might include the superhero franchise but it will not tie in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Meanwhile, these might be the best ways to advertise the game.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Will Not Affect the Game

The upcoming fight game title has attracted a lot of hype as its predecessor was an immense success. Many fans enjoyed the iconic crossovers as well as the fast-paced and unique 3v3 combat. With this in mind, it is fitting enough the MvCI will have a lot to live up to in terms of gameplay and characters.

Luckily enough, PVP Live reports that the game will be its own title and not tie in with the MCU, much to fans' relief. Creative director Bill Rosemann attended DICE 2017 and revealed a bit more about the upcoming games they plan to release. In line with this, he claimed that upcoming Marvel games will have their own storylines and will not rely on the upcoming films. Moreover, the said projects he was referring to are Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Spider-Man for PS4, MvCI and The Avengers project with Square Enix.

Most Marvel video game tie-ins have some poor reviews and ratings in contrast to that of DC games. The Arkham series received much praise from critics and fans alike while the Thor game was easily forgettable. With all of this in mind, the question stands if non-MCU characters will make their way to the fighting game.

How Capcom Can Advertise Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

That aside, WWG shared some creative ways how Capcom can promote MvCI. To begin with, they can make the game playable at certain events and even release a Beta, similar to that of Injustice 2. In terms of events, Capcom can give priority to the game during huge fighting tournaments like EVO 2017.

Similarly, the studio can also hold live streams wherein they release new tidbits of information mixed with commentary and gameplay. Finally, Capcom could endorse or even create a pro tour for the said game as many players would be willing to attend similar events. Until then, fans will have to wait for further news regarding Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.
