Nokia Lumia 928: Low-Light And OIS Shown Off In Official Teaser Video, Betters iPhone 5 And Galaxy S3 (Video)

Nokia is gearing up to launch its heavily-rumored Verizon-bound Lumia 928 smartphone, but the Finnish company has begun teasing the impending Windows Phone 8-powered device's capabilities. An official video that shows off the Lumia 928's recording capabilities against that of rivals iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 has been teased by Nokia.

Yesterday, the impending Lumia 928 emerged on Nokia's website in a print ad and now the video, touting the video-recording capabilities of the Lumia 928 against top-end handsets like iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3, has been teased on Nokia's landing page.

The footage from the PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics shows off the capabilities of Lumia 928's 8.7-megapixel primary snapper. The video has been shot at night on a rollercoaster in New York called "The Hurricane" and gives us glimpses into the Lumia 928's camera's low-light and optical image stabilization (OIS) capabilities.

"The next Nokia Lumia is coming and we are excited to unveil it soon. In the meantime, enjoy a preview of what's in store," notes Nokia in the video's description. "We took the new Nokia Lumia to Adventureland in Farmingdale, New York and strapped it to the front row of a rollercoaster called 'The Hurricane.' It's 60ft high and has an inverted loop, so we thought we would capture some video footage alongside the Samsung Galaxy S III as well as the iPhone 5. Which phone takes better video on this shake-filled and low-lit ride? You decide."

Predictably, the results of the video appear to be in favor of the Lumia 928. There is "greater cooler saturation" and "sharper image focus" in the Nokia offering when a side-by-side video comparison of the iPhone 5 and Lumia 928 is shown. When compared to the Galaxy S3, the Lumia 928 has "less video noise" and "sharper image focus." Moreover, there are fewer blown-out highlights in the Lumia 928 video when compared to the ones taken by iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3.
