‘American Crime Story' Spoilers: Penelope Cruz To Play The Role Of Donatella Versace

Amidst the rumor of Lady Gaga playing the role of the iconic Donatella Versace in the series, reports confirmed that the beautiful Penelope Cruz has already agreed with "American Crime Story."

A few weeks ago, the producers of the show stated that “American Crime Story” is hunting for an actress who can portray Donatella Versace. There were a couple of names that was rumored to be the frontrunners for the role but none bigger than Lady Gaga. The resemblance of Lady Gaga and Donatella Versace is uncanny as stated by supporters. Both loves fashion and making a statement.

However, those rumors died down when Variety Magazine stated that Penelope Cruz already cemented the role as Donatella Versace. For those who weren’t familiar with the rich history of the Versace family, now is their chance to watch it in season 3 of "American Crime History." The episode will revolve around the death of the prominent founder of the international fashion house Gianni Versace.

Gianni Versace’s Murder

The year was 1997 when the fashion world stood still. Apparently, one of the most celebrated designer was murdered by a serial killer. Gianni Versace’s case was so famous that each and every continent covered his ordeal. After some intense investigation, the authorities was able to pinpoint the assailant. Andrew Phillip Cunanan was a serial murderer in the late 1990’s. The troubled killer killed at least five people and his biggest target was Gianni Versace.

The Versace family was furious about the incident that happened to Gianni. The only problem is, prior to the authorities making a move, Andrew Phillip Cunanan committed suicide. “American Crime Story” will then provide the viewers an in-depth analysis on what happened on the horrendous crime. With the help of Donatella Versace(Penelope Cruz), finally, the mystery that stood for about two decades will be unfolded.
