Counter-Strike Update: Graffiti Sprays Revival Limits Revealed; Valve Not Responding To 'Stop Skin Transfer' Order?

Counter-Strike is once again sporting graffiti sprays after it ceased in Counter-Strike: Source. Graffiti sprays are making a comeback in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as consumable patterns. This means players can get graffiti sprays either by purchasing individual patterns from Steam Market or by purchasing Graffiti Boxes featuring art by Steam Community Artists or by collecting patterns through free weekly drops as rewards for ranking up.

It is said that modern Counter-Strike players have been accustomed to monetisation. The said process inadvertently facilitated the recent skin betting scandals. It should be noted that Valve has applied restrictions to the use of graffiti sprays in-game.

It is expected that when players unseal graffiti, the pattern may be applied 50 times. Additionally, Counter-Strike players who unseal graffiti pattern already in the inventory will get an additional 50 charges to the existing supply. Moreover, the graffiti may only be applied once per round or every 45 seconds for longer matches and will last for seven minutes and will degrade over time until it vanishes.

Several threads have also surfaced on the CS:GO subreddit on Steam Support. A number of Counter-Strike players have already expressed displeasure with the decision of Valve. It has even been noted as a cash-grabbing feat.

In other news, Washington state reportedly is not satisfied with Valve's actions to move away from skin gambling in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Reports say that Washington state wants the company to put an end to this practice. The Gambling Commission allegedly ordered Valve to stop showing the transfer of the gun skins for gambling via Steam.

Counter-Strike Publisher Valve has been given an ultimatum until Oct. 14 to explain the steps it will take to obey Washington gambling laws. However if ignored, the game may face additional civil or criminal actions. Skins are said to represent a huge, unregulated black market that hurts unsuspecting players.
