5 Pokemon GO Facts You Probably Didn't Know About

Needless to say, Pokemon GO is among the best titles the gaming industry has ever witnessed. It goes to show just how magnificent the augmented reality technology is -- if applied correctly, of course. While it holds true that the game is new, there are actually a lot of things to know about it. And yes, most players are still unfamiliar with Niantic's game. Here are 5 facts that fans certainly have no idea about.

Pokemon GO Was Meant For Kids

Believe it or not, Niantic specifically designed Pokemon GO for kids -- most specifically the ones who were born during the Pokemon era. It was basically meant to give them the exciting feeling of catching Pokemon while being out there in the wilds. This surreal experience is, thanks to the game, now a reality.

Pokemon GO Destroyed Tinder

Well, Pokemon GO didn't literally destroy Tinder, okay? It was a figure of speech, stating that the game dominated the titular dating app. When the title was released back in July this year, it managed to acquire more Android users in the United States the following day. This is definitely a record that dethroned Tinder's reputation. A couple of days later, PoGO was able to acquire at least 5.16% of all Android devices in the said region.

Fast forward to today, Pokemon GO has helped Nintendo reach a new milestone in terms of selling Pokemon games. The company, as of this writing, has already sold more than a whopping 277 million. Heck, the studio was even able to sell over 21.5 billion in terms of trading cards in ten different languages.

Pokemon GO Is Still Winning Despite The Decline

Yes, it's a fact that a huge chunk of players are quitting Pokemon GO. As previously reported here at iTech Post, the decline started when the month of August started. Some say that this was merely due to Niantic banning players for cheating. However, they can't deny that some were already disinterested. One of the main reasons? Well, it's because the game is boring and that no features are even added.

Sure, the mathematics could mean the death of Pokemon GO. Fortunately, despite the plummet, Niantic is still earning millions after millions. As a matter of fact, the figures tend to go up as each day passes by. Sadly, with what's happening, its future remains murky.

Pokemon GO Is More Popular Than Porn

Sadly for the porn industry, the hit mobile game Pokemon GO is a notch higher. According to reports, since July 11, people are far more interested with the title than porn. That they're using Google to search info (tips and guides, among others) about the game compared to a porn star's information. Simply put, the joy of catching Pokemon in real life is way more satisfying than watching naked bodies.

Pokemon GO Is A Product Of 14 Years Of Development

Yes, that's right -- Pokemon GO was developed (or at least researched) for about 14 years. It didn't arrive in an instant. Neither was it conceptualized in a matter of 3 or 4 years. The people behind it had to spend at least a good amount of years in order to make it a possibility. And true enough, Niantic admitted this. The studio was even skeptical about its existence in the past. But fortunately, things went their way.
