Swords are the basic weapon you can get for Noctis' and his team in Final Fantasy XV. While the upgraded versions of the Engine Blade might be the most common for now, you have to know that there's a more powerful sword than that-the Balmung. Apart from the highest level Engine Blade III, if there's one sword that you be keeping in your arsenal it should the Balmung. First and foremost, it is the most powerful sword in Final Fantasy XV in terms base attack power at 446. It also boosts your MP by 11.

Given a powerful weapon like the Balmung sword, getting it is not an easy feat as you have to finish off all chapters in the game. Once you have completed all main missions of Final Fantasy XV, you can unlock the quest to complete secret dungeons in the game. After accomplishing this quest, you will be rewarded with the Dungeon Seal key which you will use in unlocking distinctive doors in the dungeons.

There are a total of eight dungeons and each of them has side quests for you. To get the Balmung sword, you have to take the quest "Menace Sleeps in Steyliff." Take note that you can only embark on hidden dungeon quests at night so take advantage of daytime to rest at a camp to regenerate AP and HP and refill buffs. Other activities you can do is to put on some strong food buffs and use a hunt to get to night time without exhausting your buff.

Remember you need to unlock around 20 rooms and kill five Tonberries before you can find the Balmung right on the ground. This quest might not be as hard as it seems, but you have to make sure that you are prepared. Bank on some Limit Break Magic, Ultima Blade and healing items.
