Rogers' Samsung Galaxy Note Gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update

Canadian owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note will welcome the news that carrier Rogers has started pushing out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for its variant of the smartphone. However, the update is not an over the air one and will need to be installed using Samsung Kies.

Just a few days ago, Canadian carrier TELUS started rolling out the software update and now Rogers has followed suit.

"The Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has touched down in Canada as Canadian carriers TELUS and Rogers have made the long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates available to their customers," reports GottaBeMobile.

Samsung Galaxy Note owners on Rogers can now download and install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the first-gen phablet. The update will replace Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is the current OS, giving users a taste of Jelly Bean instead.

The software update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on the Canadian carriers TELUS and Rogers is close on the heels of U.S. carrier AT&T rolling out the Jelly Bean update for its version of the Galaxy Note. Usually, Canadian carriers are in line with AT&T when it comes to Android update rollouts and, therefore, the quick transition to Android 4.1.2 after the AT&T update comes as no surprise.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note brings several new features and improvements users' way, including Project Butter, Page Buddy, Pop-up Play, customizable notification panel, new widgets, Google Now and more. However, per reports, the much touted Multi-Window View feature which lets users multi-task is missing.

While TELUS gave detailed instructions making it easier for owners, Rogers is yet to update its page to reflect the rollout of the software.

If you're on Rogers, has your Galaxy Note started receiving the update yet?
