‘Sherlock' Season 5 Gets Massive Support Through Social Media

The hit crime drama TV series "Sherlock" might still see another season, all thanks to its loyal fan base in social media. A few days ago, their legion of supporters created a hashtag urging the network and the producers to bring back “Sherlock” for another season.

‘Sherlock’ Season 5 Update

The way the show ended wasn’t really the way fans wanted. “Sherlock” season 4 is arguably their weakest installation due to a variety of reasons. There are moments when a certain plot should be full of surprises but fans are quick to predict what is going to happen next. According to reports, the invincibility and the magic touch of the producers were not that crisps in season 4. It is fully documented that when the season was about to start, there were a lot of speculations already on the current standing of the show.

The renowned executive producer of the show, Steve Moffat also chimed in with “Sherlock’s” future before. Moffat stated that he is not bothered if there will no longer be another season for the hit series. For those who are not familiar, Steve Moffat is also the EP for “Doctor Who”.

Technically, the show is already over but “Sherlock” is still trending on social media. In fact, the hashtag #Bring221Back took Twitter by storm recently. Apparently, fans are not satisfied with “The Final Problem” episode and they are still waiting for a sequel.

Main Cast Haven’t Made Any Decisions Yet

On the other hand, there are still no reports on whether or not the main cast of the show is still interested in making another season. Benedict Cumberbatch who played the role “Sherlock” already involved himself in other commitments. “Sherlock's” sidekick, Dr. Watson(Martin Freeman) is back home enjoying a vacation. The producers of the show were also in the hot seat when they questioned about the way women were portrayed on the show. Moffat was defiant about it and was clear that they have given women voice on their show more than any series have.
