'Pokemon GO' News: Niantic Confirms Arrival Of Legendaries, PvP Battles This Summer
Niantic is racking up its activities for Pokemon GO apparently to keep its fan base constantly involved in the game. It seems that the game developer is set to release a massive update very soon that will also see the arrival of several legendaries. Rumors are also ripe that new PvP battles are also coming out this summer.
It May Even Happen Before This Week Closes
Speculations are going around that Niantic will release this Pokemon GO update between June 4 and June 6. Some are even suggesting that it may happen before this week closes. No matter which of these rumors are true, what's important to fans is that their wait for new legendaries will be over soon. Mathieu de Fayet, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Niantic hinted about it just weeks ago.
In an interview recently given by de Fayet to a Brazilian newspaper, the Niantic exec admitted that they are undertaking these ongoing activities to keep its fans interested in the game. He noted that Pokemon GO had been downloaded all over the world 650 million times. Naturally, they want to keep the revenues from its hundreds of millions of fans constantly pouring in.
Niantic Admitted That They Intend To Keep The Fans' Interest
In that respect, de Fayet revealed that they are planning to release Legendary Pokemon and introduce PvP to the video game. He also admitted that they can only keep the fans' interest in Pokemon GO if they continue to create social interactions amongst the game's humongous number of players.
Will There Be A Gym Update?
Some Pokemon GO fans believe that Niantic will also release the game's much-awaited gym update soon. Recent activities of Niantic seem to indicate this possibility. The game developer has been issuing patches lately which are supposed to discourage cheaters. Gyms have to be reset so that cheaters and bots will not be able to infest the video game.
John Hanke, Niantic CEO, also shared some details about the release of the Legendary. In answering a question as to what Legendary will be released, he just said that more of it will be seen this year. This led to rumors suggesting that perhaps these will include Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres to the update.
