The Hardest And Rarest Pokemon In 'Pokemon Go'

Business Insider has reported that Pokemon Go fans spend tremendous efforts as far as going through its backend code to determine which Pokemon have the least rate for base-capture, also known as Pokemon that are fond of fleeing in Pokemon Go. This tells us that there are certain Pokemon in Pokemon Go that are harder to collect as compared to your daily Pidgey, much like real-life goals, huh?

If you are a serious Pokemon Go gamer, it is very important information to differentiate easy-to-catch versus hard-to-catch Pokemon. The difference would mean a collection of rare Pokemon or an empty inventory of Pokeballs.

Well, folks, before embarking on a journey to be the very best in collecting rare Pokemon, you might want to save on your Pokeballs, from the basic red Pokeball up to your strongest. Also, Rass Beries, help a lot in convincing a wild Pokemon to come with you in Pokemon Go.

Here is the list of rare Pokemon and their capture rate:

  • Ivysaur: 8% base-capture rate
  • Charmeleon: 8% base-capture rate
  • Wartortle: 8% base-capture rate
  • Raichu: 8% base-capture rate
  • Clefable: 8% base-capture rate
  • Ninetales: 8% base-capture rate
  • Arcanine: 8% base-capture rate
  • Gyarados: 8% base-capture rate
  • Dragonair: 8% base-capture rate
  • Gengar: 8% base-capture rate
  • Venusaur: 4% base-capture rate
  • Charizard: 4% base-capture rate
  • Blastoise: 4% base-capture rate
  • Dragonite: 4% base-capture rate

Special Mention - Abra and Magicarp

Even if it does not have a low rate for capture data, Abra does have the highest flee rate. 99% to be exact, so if you caught one, show it to your friends and wow them!

I got a Dragonite myself and my colleagues got baffled on how I captured it. Maybe I just lucky with Berries and a couple of ultra balls.

The easiest to capture is, you guest it, Magikarp! With 56% base-capture rate.

The bigger you are, the harder it is to catch rare Pokemon

For players level 25 and up, they will have a harder time catching the said Pokemon since via game's code, it will decrease the capture base. Say an 8% capture base for a level 24 will become 6% when going level 25.
