Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Vs. Galaxy C7: Battle Of The Mid-Range Phones

For most smartphone manufacturers, the real battle is in the lower-end and mid-range markets. While the high-end smartphones are usually showcased, the bulk of sales really happen in the lower and mid-range segments. Samsung has two smartphones in the mid-range segment in the form of the Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy C7, handsets that would satisfy most consumers.

When it comes to specs, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy C7 come with few differences. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime uses Samsung's own Exynos 7870 processor while the Samsung Galaxy C7 uses the Snapdragon 625. For the display screens, the Galaxy J7 Prime uses an IPS LCD screen while the Galaxy C7 is a Super AMOLED phone.

For internal storage, the Galaxy J7 Prime comes with 32 GB storage and 3 GB RAM. The Galaxy C7 can either have 32 GB or 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM, as shown by GSM Arena's specs comparisons of the two smartphones. The Galaxy C7 is also slightly larger with its 5.7-inch display against the Galaxy J7 Prime, which only has a 5.5-inches panel.

The Galaxy J7 Prime has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The Galaxy C7 has a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. Perhaps what people would note most is the price difference. The Galaxy J7 Prime is sold at $282 while the Galaxy C7 is at $397, according to University Herald.

Both smartphones have microSD support and can be expanded up to 256GB. Both also have Android Marshmallow 6.01 as their OS. In terms of performance based on specs, the Samsung Galaxy C7 has the edge with its much higher specs, though it does come at a higher price. Many might find the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime to be a bit more affordable, even though its specs might be a little low.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime gives value for money without sacrificing too much on specs. Most will find that for its price specs, it is a very good smartphone. For those who wouldn't mind slightly lower specs, the Galaxy J7 Prime would be good. For those who would want more but would not want to spend high-end prices, the Galaxy C7 offers specs that can rival many high-end smartphones.

Both smartphones give the mid-range market devices that deliver and yet do not cost too much. Both smartphones can be good alternatives to higher-end models.
