Apple recently took the wraps off its latest iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C and pre-orders for the latter will begin on Sept. 13, with both handsets launching on Sept.20.
The iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are amongst the most anticipated smartphones of this year and come Sept. 20, iFans will finally be able to get their hands on the latest handsets.
"iPhone 5s is the most forward-thinking smartphone in the world, delivering desktop class architecture in the palm of your hand," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "iPhone 5s sets a new standard for smartphones, packed into its beautiful and refined design are breakthrough features that really matter to people, like Touch ID, a simple and secure way to unlock your phone with just a touch of your finger."
Apple confirmed that all four major carriers - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile - will offer the handsets. The latest iPhones will also be available from the Apple Online Store, Apple Retail Stores and Apple Authorized Retailers.
All previous iterations of the iPhone were available in only two colors. However, the company has announced that the top-end iPhone 5S will be available in gold, silver or space gray color options. The budget iPhone 5C, meanwhile, will be available in five hues: white, pink, blue, green and yellow.
Just like the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S will be available with 16/32/64GB of on-board storage options and will carry a price tag of $199/$299/$399 on a two-year contract in the U.S.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 were sold out within an hour from the Apple Online Store in the U.S., so it will be interesting to see if the iPhone 5C can replicate, if not outperform the iPhone 5 pre-order demand.
All previous iterations of the iPhones have been received well by iFans and tech gurus alike. With the commercial launch just a few days away we will have to wait and see if the latest iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C stir the same excitement as their predecessors.
