‘The Flash’ Season 3: Is There Hope for Barry and Iris Getting Together in Flashpoint?

Actress Candice Patton, playing Iris West in "The Flash Season 3" says that her character does not bear any ill will against Barry Allen for completely altering the course of her life. At least, that's what she personally thinks if she only knew what he intended to accomplish after they briefly enjoyed a long-awaited romantic moment.

Time Line Completely Changed

Barry, played by Grant Gustin, was able to travel back in time and save his mother but inadvertently changed the timeline which caused Irish and Barry to become pseudo-strangers rather than being pseudo-siblings.

Irish Absolutely Supports Barry

"I honestly think with everything we've seen of Iris, with everything that I believe about Iris, she's been nothing but supportive and loyal to Barry since the moment we've met her," said Patton in an interview with E! News.

"And I think if anyone understands him and his heart, she does. It would've been hard for her, but I definitely think she would've supported his decision. And she kind of, without even knowing it, said something to that effect," she added.

What's Ahead In Season 3

The premiere of "The Flash" season 3 is called "Flashpoint." This episode seems to indicate that CW is bringing in one of the largest crossover events of all the many DC comics TV series.

"Flashpoint" has two different versions, the DC Animated Movie version and the comic book version. But they are both practically the same. It tells the events when the Flash created an alternate universe.

"We're not going to stay in Flashpoint the entire season," said Aaron Helbing, executive producer. "But all of the impact of Flashpoint and of the consequences of Barry's action will definitely play out throughout the season," he added.

That may include future episodes that will define the relationship between Irish West and Barry Allen.
