Windows Insiders get the latest preview build of Windows 10 today. Windows Insiders get the latest version of Windows 10 ahead of everyone else, so more or less others would know what to expect on the latest Windows 10 build once it comes out for commercial use. The latest Windows 10 build offers some improvements though it would come at a cost.
Windows 10 Build 14942 is out for those who are in the Windows Insiders program, according to Tom's Hardware. The latest build has some improvements, such as svchosts not anymore being used for systems that have more than 3.5 GB RAM. While svchosts would still be around, it would now run as a separate process. While this is said to increase in service reliability, it would also come at a cost. RAM usage would increase as well, which might affect computers that only have 4 GB RAM.
There are other changes that come with Build 14942. Apps list would now be hidden in the Start menu. That means the apps list could be collapsed by users. The main Windows blog site says that this is a feature that has been requested by users.

The Photos app has also been updated with the new build. Now the Photos app has a better design to it. This also allows users to navigate the Photos app in an easier way. An addition to the Photos app is a horizontal navigation bar which would make it easier for users to view albums and folders. The Photos app is now also available on the Xbox One with the update.
For people on Windows 10 Mobile, adjustments have been made for gestures and click detection. Some gestures such as finger taps and clicks would be much easier now. Reduced as well is accidentally zooming in on photos and sites, which can be annoying for some users.
Other changes on the new Windows 10 build include a new Windows update icon and an overall improvement on the PC upgrade experience. Other minor fixes have been noted as well for Windows 10 Build 14942.
The Microsoft Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 also get new updates.
