What To Expect From 2016 MacBook Pro: Line Up Of Specs, Features And Leaks

Relatively recently, Apple confirmed it would be holding an event on October 27. Many believe that the Cupertino-based company will take this time to unveil the highly anticipated 2016 MacBook Pro. If the rumors and leaks are anything to go by, the device will be a stunner and will blow its predecessors away.

As BGR notes, the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro is rumored to include an all new OLED function key, which should rest right above the standard keyboard. The new function key will apparently morph for each application or system that the user is currently on. Theoretically, this will make the Mac more efficient.

The publication also claims that the device is likely to have Touch ID. This means that Apple Pay, which MacOS Sierra brings to Mac Products, will have a necessary feature in the 2016 MacBook Pro. The touch ID will likely be placed right into the keyboard for easy access.

The overall design of the 2016 MacBook Pro is expected to be different as well. The unit is expected to be thinner and lighter than any of its predecessors. Furthermore, the device is estimated to sport a butterfly keyboard, which Apple boasts will be more stable.

As Forbes adds, the 2016 MacBook Pro will come in 13 inches and 15 inch variants. The unit is also expected to minimize the number of ports by dropping MagSafe and relying primarily on the USB Type-C port for both connectivity and power. However, Thunderbolt 3 is also expected to make the cut.

The publication goes on to state that Apple might not reveal a new line of iMac products. However, on the off chance that the Cupertino-based company does unveil a new iMac, it will not ship units out until 2017. On the other hand, the fate of the MacBook Air is still unknown. Some sources still argue that, with the lighter and thinner body of the 2016 MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air no longer has enough features to distinguish it from the other Mac products.
