Microsoft Surface News: Despite NFL Coach's Tirade Microsoft Still Believes Surface Poised For Success

Microsoft Surface has gotten some flak after a popular NFL coach had some bad review on the new tablet. Bill Belichick claimed that the Surface often broke down when he used it during games.

The Patriots have stopped using the Surface altogether after Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots, called the device "undependable" after numerous instances of images not loading quick enough. In other instances, the images did not load at all.

The six-time Super Bowl champion also mentioned that the constant breakdowns were "too much for his sensitive in-game spirit".

Despite the tirade of the three-time AP NFL Coach of the Year, the Surface still has many fans in the league. The NFL announced that they "continue to receive positive feedback on having Surface devices on the sidelines from coaches, players, and team personnel crossed the league".

The NFL answered concerns by releasing a statement that the league will continue to support Microsoft and considers the latter as their "integral, strategic partner". They went on to defend the Surface by saying that "many factors can affect the performance of a particular technology either related to or outside of our partner's solutions".

Microsoft also issued a statement through a blog post by corporate vice president of the Windows and Devices Group, Yusuf Mehdi, insisting that the Surface produces images 7 times faster than the old method.

The tech giant completed a $400 million deal with the National Football League last season. The tablets were used by both coaches and players to look at high-resolution photos of in-game plays.

Microsoft has so far earned big from their latest endeavors which include the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. Revenue from the Surface line reached $926 million, up 38 percent from last year.

Microsoft is rumored to be releasing the Surface Phone sometime April 2017.
