The forthcoming "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff and prequel were already confirmed by FX Networks, yet latest reports speculate that "The First 9" is not likely to happen anymore. Following Donald Trump's electoral victory, creator Kurt Sutter has reportedly vowed to delve into a more positive storyline. If this will push through, the upcoming installments of the "Sons of Anarchy" series are speculated to stray far from its original theme that might not appeal to its fandom.
The "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff titled "Mayans MC" has been described by FX Networks as a "dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1% outlaw, this time reflected through a Latino lens." The original series brutally presented crimes in its past seasons which has led to its vast appeal among viewers. It also had iniquitous revelations about subcultures where racism was one of the social issues tackled. Fans might remember that the series started out with the war between the "white motorcycle club" and the "brown motorcycle club."
The brutality that comes with the show has made Sutter a well-known TV series creator. However, while he has already become famous for taking things too far, Sutter recently suggested that he will give his "Sons of Anarchy" project a more positive light. This follows his statement following Trump's success in the U.S. election:
"My point is this. I love being a misanthrope. My default is always anger and aggression. I feel empowered when I eviscerate the things that I don't like. Or more accurately, the things that scare me. But I know to dump hate and fear on top of this precarious political climate makes me part of the problem. So for my own sanity and in the spirit of hope for my kids and all citizens of the world, I promise to look for the similarities rather than the differences. And instead of complaining about beliefs and policies I don't think are right, I will try to put that energy into something productive that incites change rather than derisiveness,"
Following Sutter's vow of delving into a more positive plot, fans are now speculating that FX might no longer push through with "The First 9." As reported, the spinoff is already well underway, but the prequel's production is still far from starting. This follows FX's decision to air the "Mayans MC" before the "The First 9." It is now being predicted that the spinoff might underperform with its new theme, thus leading to a possible cancelation of "The First 9."
Since fans have loved the original series for its violent stunts, it is speculated that the upcoming "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff and prequel might be too boring to watch if it will eliminate the battering and good-willed characters will takeover the series. Fans might then want to slow down with their expectations since the scenarios suggest that Trump has pushed Sutter to kill its brutal and violent "Sons of Anarchy" series.
