The big news is that there's been another leaked image of the hottest new Android phone to come out later this year, the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The not-so-big news is that the Galaxy S4 leaked image resembles the last leaked image of the Galaxy S4.
The fact that there are any more leaked images of the Galaxy S4 at all is a big deal, because even Samsung has enough confidence that the company is expecting to release 100 million units of the sucker.
Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies & Company, says Samsung plans on cutting Apple's iPhone supplier's resources off at the knees by the putting out 100 million Galaxy S4s.
"The enormous 100 million S4 build plan ... is leading some suppliers to say that they will reallocate resources away from Apple," says Misek in a research note as reported by Phone Arena.
Samsung's projected numbers might not be bunkum, either, as up to mid-January of 2013, the company had sold 40 million units of the Galaxy S3.
The first leaked images of the Galaxy S4 cases came out via a British mobile accessory retailer alleging that its Chinese suppliers had been the source.
"The sources eventually disclosed that besides the rectangular shape, the Galaxy S IV will have a larger screen, which measurements showed to be around five inches, and the camera module looks quite large, with openings for the speaker grill and the LED flash around it," says Phone Arena.
It was on Feb. 23 that Phone Arena also released this leaked image of the Galaxy S4 itself, revealing that it would have quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 inside, aluminum sides with a plastic back and will be available in black or white.
Other specs of the Galaxy S4 include:
- 4.99-inch FHD SoLux display (no AMOLED glass)
- 2GB of RAM with native storage available in 16GB/32GB/64GB variants
- A 13MP camera on back
- A removable battery
- Dimensions of the phone will be 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7mm and the handset will weight 138 grams
- Design will be "squared off" (meaning it will not resemble the Galaxy S3 as much as originally thought)
While the latest leaked image (the one on the left in the Phone Arena article) is blurry as all heck, we can see at least that it's not going to so much resemble the Galaxy S3 and will have squared-off edges.
Phone Arena also notes that the new image (as well as the old one on the right) does match the square cases leaked by that British mobile manufacturer, so at least the image (blurry or not) should be legit.
We'll all know for sure just what the Galaxy S4 has in store for us when Samsung unveils it in New York on March 14.
