2017 Subaru Impreza Demonstrates The Brand’s Care For Environment

Subaru has already shown how much it cares for its customers by packing its vehicles with great safety features. Apparently, the safety of its patrons is not the automaker's only concern as it also cares much about the environment. The 2017 Subaru Impreza demonstrates the brand's care for the environment in ways most people would least expect.

Subaru's Way Of Environmental Protection

According to report from Torque News, protecting the environment is nothing new to Subaru. In fact, the automaker has a zero landfill operation in its U.S. based plant that helps to reduce damages made to the environment. This U.S. based plant is also where the 2017 Subaru Impreza is rolling out from. In addition, the automaker also makes use of waste oil from scheduled maintenance oil changes as a source of heat for greenhouses along with old tires that are converted into road-paving materials.

Engine Specs

Car and Driver reported that the 2017 Subaru Impreza is equipped with a 2.0-liter Flat-4 engine capable of 152 horsepower and 145 pound feet of torque. This is paired with a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to its all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain. The manual transmission however, will only be available on the lower trims as the higher ones, Premium and Sport in particular, will have continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Safety Features

The safety features are the highlight for the 2017 Subaru Impreza. The Subaru EyeSight is a standard package that aims to have zero fatal accidents with its pedestrian protection airbag. The Safety package also includes automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning and cross-traffic alert as reported.

Fuel Efficiency

It was reported that the 2017 Subaru Impreza has an approximate fuel tank capacity of 13.2 gallons. The fuel economy rate stands at 25/34/28 in the city, highway and combined respectively. Accordingly, the direct fuel injection system has been revamped to promote lessen the consumption of fuel while increasing the output in mileage.

Environmental Care

The 2017 Subaru Impreza demonstrates that brand's care for the environment in more ways than one. Its zero landfill operation, safety and increased fuel efficiency are only some of its ways in environmental protection. Apparently, the brand's zero landfill plant in the U.S. is a National Wildlife Federation designated Backyard Wildlife Habitat. With that being said, not only does Subaru care for the safety of the environment of the customers but also for the ecosystem as well.
