Did 'The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Get A New Game Mechanic?

Is there a specific or new gameplay mechanic that Nintendo has yet to reveal in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? On the other hand, there is a possibility for the studio to make a 2D Zelda game for the Nintendo Switch.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Has a Strange 'New' Feature

Nintendo has been trickling more information regarding the upcoming Zelda game as the launch date inches closer. In line with this, various new and returning characters, mechanics and exploration details are now coming to light. However, is the studio still holding back from talking about a new gameplay feature?

According to Wccftech, a gameplay video features a certain menu called the "Ability Control" that nobody still seems to know about. While Nintendo has yet to reveal the finer details about this, it seems like the players might have access to some sort of secret abilities. Would these abilities tie in with the mysterious Sheikah Slate?

Old School Zelda Games on Nintendo's Latest Console

That aside, some old school fans might be wondering if the Nintendo Switch will ever get a traditional-style Zelda game. Luckily, producer Eiji Aonuma sheds some light regarding this topic, as per WWG. He claimed that there is a possibility that the hybrid console will get its own customary-like Zelda games as he claimed that there are some good things about the 2D world.

He also acknowledged the fact that many players are still fans of the said style. Moreover, Aonuma mentioned how the handheld development Zelda team will not be phased out. However, they are tackling a different approach and style towards Zelda games - something Aonuma calls a 2D-style approach.

Until any further announcements about new Zelda games, fans can look forward to "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" which will be releasing next month. The upcoming title takes a unique spin on the series' formula and boasts expansive fields and plenty of dungeons. Those who want to play the game can pick up their copy for the Wii U or Nintendo Switch.
