Samsung is going to use the Galaxy S4 name to its advantage with three upcoming smartphones. We've already know the specs and also have seen the pictures of the Galaxy S4 Mini. The two other smartphones are the Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. We reported on leaked images of the Galaxy S4 Active recently and now a new report is letting us in on the specs of both the S4 Active and the S4 Zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is Samsung's rugged, waterproof and dustproof smartphone. Consider it Samsung's answer to the waterproof Sony Xperia Z. The S4 Active will be the first smartphone from Samsung to feature a solid metal case and will be a tougher version of its flagship Galaxy S4 in terms of specs. The smartphone will feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR blaster, and 2600 mAh removable battery.
According to the leaked information, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is going to be Samsung's camera-focused smartphone. The S4 Zoom will reportedly ship with a 16-megapixel rear camera with 10x Optical Zoom. The S4 Zoom will also include a 4.3-inch 540 x 960 Super AMOLED display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 2GB or RAM, 1.9-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, and a 1900 mAh removable battery.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is more on par with the Galaxy S4 Mini with its 4.3-inch display, while the S4 Active is closer to the Galaxy S4 in terms of screen size and specs. It seems as though Samsung feels there is strength in numbers and wants to have as many spin-offs of the Galaxy S4 as possible, which will only add to more smartphone market share for the company. Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active, and Galaxy S4 Zoom at its June 20 London event.
