One of the best things about Disney movies is that some of the songs will stay with you long after you've heard them the first time. While some are good and catchy, a lot of them are iconic enough that many people probably know the lyrics by heart until now. Here is a few of those.
1. 'Hakuna Matata' from 'The Lion King'
The movie "The Lion King" was released back in 1994, and yet people would know the words when you sing the song to them and they could even sing them with you. As the lyrics of the song say, it means "no worries," which Timone and Pumbaa are trying to tell the young lion cub Simba.
2. 'A Whole New World' from 'Aladdin'
Riding a magic carpet as you look over a beautiful city must be an enchanting experience, and it was made memorable by Jasmine and Aladdin as they sang "A Whole New World." While the song in the movie is already well-known as it is, there have been several renditions that reminded people of how wonderful it actually is.
3. 'I See the Light' from 'Tangled'
Rapunzel on a boat with Flynn Rider as they look at thousands of floating lanterns is arguably one of the most beautiful animated scenes from Disney. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi sang the song so beautifully that it fit the scene so perfectly.
4. 'Let it Go' from 'Frozen'
"Frozen" gave us a lot of songs to remember, but "Let it Go" is one of the most memorable. It's likely that parents know the lyrics to the entire song because of the countless amount of times their kid watched it. Regardless, it's undeniable that the song deserves to be on this list, especially since it blasted through the radio many times before the hype died down.
5. 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' from 'Encanto'
It's almost impossible that you haven't heard this song at least once, especially since there was a time when a snippet of it was widely used on TikTok. The lyrics paint the character Bruno in a bad light, but if you've seen the movie, it's actually not true. Still, the events that were happening as they sang in the movie were hilarious.
6. 'How Far I'll Go' from 'Moana'
Moana sang this song as she longingly looked at the ocean and where it could take her, which makes the song's message more powerful. Of course, it didn't hurt that Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote it. For a time, it was the go-to song of a lot of people during karaoke nights.
7. 'Tale as Old as Time' from 'Beauty and the Beast'
One of the most famous songs from one of Disney's most-known classics, this song is among the titles you can sing from start to finish, word for word. It's about finding love in a way you least expect it. The latest rendition was by Ariana Grande and John Legend for the live adaptation starring Emma Watson.
8. 'Reflection' from 'Mulan'
"Reflection" comes as an emotional song as Mulan sang it after failing to do her duty, which was to sit still and look pretty for the matchmaker. Christina Aguilera even recorded her own version as her debut single. The lyrics tell the emotions of a person who cannot show their true selves, which made the scene it was in more moving.
