Chevrolet has once again proven just how great its creations are as its 2017 Bolt EV grabs Green Car of The Year Award. The award is given to car models that are considered to be the most advanced in terms of technology but are also environmentally friendly. In addition, Chevrolet also came in third place during the North American Car of the Year Awards.

According to a report from CNET, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is an all-electric vehicle that is capable of going 238 miles per charge. Along with its technology in connectivity and features in advanced break regeneration and driving dynamics, the mileage capability of the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV was one of the biggest factors that led it to bag the Green Car of the Year Award.

A Hard-Fought Battle

Apparently, the victory for Chevrolet is one that was achieved in a hard-fought battle. It was stated by CNET that the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV went up against formidable opponents such as the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Toyota Prius Prime, Kia Optima and the 330e iPerformance of BMW.

Bolt And Volt: Back To Back Green Car of The Year

A report from USA Today stated that the Bolt should not be confused with the Volt although they are both made by Chevrolet. The two models are distinguished by the fact that the former is an all-electric vehicle while the latter is a hybrid. It was mentioned in the same report that the Chevrolet Volt was the winner of the Car of The Year Award in the previous year. This makes the two models the back to back green car of the year awardee.

Price And Release Date

Given the promise of great mileage in a single charge, buyers are likely to start lining up soon. USA Today reported that the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will have a price tag of $37,495 and is expected to be on the market before the current year ends.
