Nissan NV Cargo X: The Most Epic Off-Road Van

How do you make an epic van? By making the van a wicked off-road warrior, that's how. Nissan did just that with its NV Cargo X project that is scheduled to make its appearance at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, which will be taking place in just a few short days.

Nissan NV Cargo X: Seriously Powerful

The Nissan NV Cargo X is basically just your ordinary NV2500 HD cargo van but with one difference, the former is one seriously powerful machine. According to Motor Authority, the Nissan NV Cargo X has been equipped with a 5.0-liter turbodiesel V8 engine. Yes, the very same engine that powers the Titan XD pickup. This engine can deliver 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. It also has the same Aisin six-speed automatic transmission as the Nissan Titan XD. In addition, the Nissan NV Cargo X is also one serious off-road warrior with its four-wheel-drive (4WD) drivetrain configuration.

Nissan Cargo X: Off-Road Warrior

Given the fact that the Nissan Cargo X is one seriously juiced up van under the hood, it only makes sense that it also a whole lot of other modifications to make it more epic. Here's the deal, Nissan certainly took this project very seriously as the automaker, in partnership with Ian Johnson, Xtreme Off-Road television show's host, as the team gave the Nissan Cargo X beefed up suspension system and a set of 37-inch General GrabberX3 tires. In case you are wondering, the Nissan NV Cargo X is more than seven-feet with its wicked tires. You can definitely bet that this van can take the off-road terrains like any of your everyday off-road vehicles.

Nissan Cargo X: Pimped Out Van

A seriously juiced up van needs a pimped-out appearance and that is exactly what Nissan and Johnson did. The Nissan Cargo X also features LED spot lights along with a tube font bumper with a winch in addition to its wicked exterior vinyl wrap. You may never look at another delivery van in the same manner you have always done after seeing this off-road warrior of a van.

Nissan Cargo X: Everything You Need Is In There

If you like the exterior of the Nissan Cargo X, the interior will also make your jaw drop as it basically has all you need to have a wicked off-road adventure. The Nissan Cargo X has 234 cubic-feet of space along with a full-size spare, fluid containment and storage system. It also has an onboard air system, recovery tracks, recovery rope, portable welder, high-lift jack and a handy tool bag.

Nissan Cargo X: For Your Eyes Only

Unfortunately, the Nissan Cargo X is not going to be something you can buy from the showrooms. It appears that the Nissan Cargo X is a one-time build and it will never become a production vehicle. This epic van however, gives a lot of people an idea about future projects they can take on. Nissan is merely showing the possibilities when you put your imagination and hands to work. That being said, you can check out the Nissan Cargo X in a few days at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.
