At long last, the highly anticipated Pokemon GO Winter update has arrived. It introduced a couple of new features and changes. But among these, one that really caught the attention of most trainers is Pikachu's Santa Hat. Apparently, it appears to be an Easter Egg, pointing to something interesting. Or perhaps, it's just a glitch that Niantic failed to notice. Either way, it's worth investigating.
A Reddit user by the name FrankieTAE discovered it. Although it may simply be a glitch, this trick is worth trying. To activate it, players must first turn on the Battery Saver on. Select the Santachu directly from the inventory. Here, turn the phone upside down and wait for a couple of seconds. After that, turn the phone back around.
Doing the aforementioned steps in Pokemon GO will make the Pokemon's hat spin. It's worth noting that, albeit simple, this doesn't work on all kinds of smartphone. According to Otakukart, most Android phones with older version can't do this. For most players, they consider it an Easter Egg. This is most especially that Niantic has been generous in giving such in the past few weeks.
However, it's also safe to say that this is probably a glitch or a bug. The devs might have missed this one. And it's actually quite ironic, as such customization or whatsoever is too early to arrive in the game. Unless of course, if it's really pointing to a possible feature in the future.
In the next few days, Pokemon GO players can expect more cool items. These should be introduced sooner or later, with the Christmas day only a few days away. Moreover, a code was found in the game's files, referring to trainers being able to wear decent stuff. As of this writing, though, Niantic hasn't confirmed any of these.
