Samsung Galaxy S4 Launches In Blue, Headed To NTT DoCoMo

Samsung is set to release its latest Galaxy S4 smartphone in Japan on Thursday, May 23, and the handset is going to don an all-new blue avatar. Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has announced that it will be offering the Galaxy S4 in "Blue Arctic."

The Blue Arctic hue is the third one for the Android-powered smartphone. The Galaxy S4 is already available in Black Mist and White Frost.

"Blue Arctic is the new color of the Galaxy S4. Samsung already has the colours 'Black Mist' and 'White Frost'," reports SamMobile.

A few days ago, leaked images of the Galaxy S4 in blue popped up online, hinting that the smartphone would get a fresh lick of paint very soon. Now NTT DoCoMo would become the first carrier to retail the phone in the new color.

Apart from the change in hue, the Docomo version of the Galaxy S4 will also support digital terrestrial TV broadcasts via a pull-out antenna, as well as FeliCa NFC payment capabilities. Moreover, unlike the other international variants which feature a 13-megapixel primary camera, the Japan-bound Galaxy S4 will tout a 13.2-megapixel one. The carrier's variant of the smartphone will also have a 2.1-megapixel secondary camera, compared to the 2-megapixel one on other international models.

What's more, a YouTube user "mappan777" has posted a hands-on video which shows the blue variant of the Galaxy S4 next to the black one. It is not known if the Blue Arctic flavor of the Galaxy S4 will make its way to other parts of the world soon.
