Samsung Will Finally Release Official Statement Regarding 'Galaxy Note 7' Explosions

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was considered as a worldwide success when it officially launched a few months ago. The company was able to ship an estimated 4.3 million units worldwide. It seemed like smooth sailing for Samsung, who had the winning formula with its Note series but then reports started spreading about the Note 7 blowing up.

Samsung pointing fingers

According to reports, Samsung blamed a certain battery supplier as the culprit, which is surprisingly reported to actually be their own subsidiary. The first batches of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units were then recalled by the company. Sales of the units were temporarily banned until replacement models were ready.

Bad luck continues

But unfortunately, reports were still spreading that the Note 7's in circulation continued to explode or catch fire. One notable report stated that a Southwest Airline flight was evacuated when a passenger's purported replacement Note 7 overheated and caught fire.

Note 7 discontinuation

Roughly a month after its official release and product recalls, Samsung has officially announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be discontinued. After estimated cases of 35 incidents were reported, some have even included replacement units. The company has then decided to halt all sales of its flagship device. The timing of the incident also happened to be the moment when Apple was about to launch its newest iPhone 7 lineup.

Samsung is already making investigations

Reports have said that Samsung has already launched an internal investigation on November 11. They are reportedly working closely with several product safety experts from Korea and the U.S. Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 limbo has already affected their entire Galaxy brand. Still, Samsung is expected to announce their flagship phone early next year. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 investigation is expected to come up with results soon. Samsung claims to have the details of the investigation made public before the end of the year.
